My name is Andrea and I am a civil engineer based in Verona, Italy.

I have been interesting of construction since when I was young. I was really into building houses and skyscrapers using LEGO® and at the age of 18 I started helping my father with building renovations.

At the age of 19 I begun a bachelor course in civil engineering to complement the practice with the theory of construction. Through the years my expertise and experience have all grown and changed but the passion for buildings is still the same. I also pursued a master’s degree in civil engineering that gave me a strong academic background of the main design materials such as timber, steel, concrete and masonry. 

In the last years of my master my interesting in building focused on timber, leading me to write the master’s thesis on tall timber building. Moreover, thanks to the 4 months spent at the UBC as a visiting student, I had an incredible opportunity to learn how scientific research works taking part in the editing of two papers.

As an engineer I am now looking for new challenges that allow me to improve my technical skills and to finally realize what I always wanted since when I was a child: building structures!
